across town

1. today i was able to talk whitty into taking me out for a run. we decided that we should go to across town to steel creek park. whitty skated while i ran along side. but when we go down hill whitty gets going to fast for me and i wind up working as a brake. i'll have to talk to him about that.
2. whitty did walk me down to the lake so i could get a drink after working up a thirst. there were a lot of geese and ducks along the banks. they stayed back a few yards out in the water as we approached. i think that whitty scares them, he's not as cute as i am. HAHAHA!
3. there is a path that leads from steel creek that runs over to the volunteer parkway called the wes davis greenway. me and whitty followed it for about a half mile or little bit more give or take. i like it better because its pretty much level but there's nowhere for me to get a drink.
4. there is a creek that flows along the path but it's mostly over grown with weeds. whitty did find one spot to get to the creek but we had to jump on to some rocks that were slick and not real easy for me to walk on. i kind of slipped and hurt my back foot while trying to get a drink. i was able to walk it off but it might be sore for a few days.
5. i think whitty was a bit worried that i got hurt. i did limp a few times as we made our way back to the car. by the time we got back i was walking better. he worries about me a lot when i might be hurt. i thought he was going to carry me back to the car. i told him if he did i would bite his ear. (just kidding--- but don't tell him that).

runnin loose

2. me and whitty finally got to go down to the weir today. we haven't had much luck lately because it's been raining almost for a solid week. it rained a little this morning but cleared up by this evening.
3. today we did some cross training. first we skated back and forth across the weir about six or seven times. then whitty took me for walk around the island. we probably walked a little over a mile around the island.
4. there was a lot of dog out for me to play with while we exercised. there was one dog running loose about my size. i might have had a couple of pounds on him. we didn't have any problems with him most of the time. just as we were leaving he tried to start a fight with me but whitty wouldn't have any of that.
5. all the other dogs we met up with today were friendly and we played nice together. of course while we played whitty would stand around and chat with their humans. some people wanted to pet me especially the kids but i just wanted to play with the dogs. the kids were nice and gentle while they were petting me. i tried to run after some squirrels but i can't climb trees. i wouldn't know what to do if i caught them but it's the chase i like.

lots of dogs

1. i tried to talk whitty into taking me to the south holston dam today. i thought he was going to but as we passed the weir he changed his mind. whitty figured that getting to the water was easier at the weir than at the dam. up there we would have to try to get down to the level of the lake for me to get a drink. where as at the river it's a lot less hassle to get to.
2. while we were there we came upon a chuch group and they had about a dozen or more little kids. a bunch of them wanted to come over and meet me. i got quite a bit of petting which i enjoyed. it's a good thing i like kids. they all got a kick out of seeing me pulling whitty on his skates.
3. there was one guy that had a couple of retreivers and he had a decoy launcher. he would fire the decoy over half way across the river then send one of the dogs out to retrieve it. they took turns going after it to bring it back.
4. i got to play with the other dogs while down there. i even got to play with some little puppies, there was one that would try to jump on me and run in circles. it was hillarius we thought it was really cute the way it carried on. we really had a lot of fun today.

almost dark

1. today was awfully humid when me and whitty decided to go down to the weir and do some skating. we thought that it was going to rain earlier but it only sprinkled for a couple of minuets. it didn't even get the ground wet so after it started to clear up we drove down to oceola island.
2. we skated across the bridge and back about five or six times. after we got done skating whitty wanted to walk around the island. whitty got his camera out of his car and we hiked around the upper half of the island. we hoped that we might see some deer but no such luck. i enjoyed it because we hadn't been through there in a while.
3. i got to see my buddy tucker while whitty was skating. i got whitty to stop so me and tucker could play for a short time. i also got to play with some dogs i hadn't met before. there was a 4 mo. old female bull mastiff i got to play with. whitty liked the color of her coat and i did too it was brendel. she almost looked like there were tiger stripes along her sides.
4. we stayed at the weir till it started to get dark. between it getting dark and the fog rolling in it was kind of spooky looking. we could hardly see people standing out in the river fishing. sometimes all you could see was a dark shadow out in fog bank. it really set the mood with the sunset fading in the background.

tucker

1. sorry but over the holidays whitty missed one of my postings. he skipped july 1st because he said he had to get ready for a family reunion and that he had to be the photographer. i might let him off this time but he better watch it next time i'll put him in the dog house. that threat might mean more if he didn't build me such a nice dog house. ROFL. last tuesday me and whitty went to oceola island at the weir. there was only a few folks out and fewer had their dog with them. just before we left i did get to see my buddy tucker for just a minuet or two.


2. today whitty took me back down to the weir again. there was quite a few dogs out running around with their pet humans. i went up to two small weiner dogs while we ran around and one of them took off running and yelping like i bit it's tail. i wouldn't hurt them but i don't think they knew that. every time i turned my back it would try to sneek up on me but he would take off yelping when i turned back around.
   
3. we skated to the far side of the island and took a break to catch our breath. when we started back across me and whitty saw a doe standing in the middle of the trail. we took our time going back across and the deer stood there and watched us for a couple of minutes. the doe gently turned around and went back into the woods. we were able to get pretty close before it walked off.
4. there was a bunch of little kids down at the weir playing in the water as we arrived. when they saw me a bunch of those kids wanted to come over and pet me. i guess it's a good thing i like kids. the kids were nice and gental with me so i let them pet me.
5. just before we left to go home just who did i get to see. my buddy tucker showed up but he was getting there and we were leaving. mabey i'll get to play longer next time we see each other. oh well thats the way it goes i guess.

not so hot

1. its been awfully hot lately but the temperature dipped from upper 90's to mid 80's. since it had cooled a bit i was able to talk whitty into taking me down to the weir. it was still pretty warm so we waited till after 6:00 before going down. we stayed for about an hour and skated back and forth across the bridge.


2. there was a bunch of new buddies out with their pet humans for me to play with today. i met about 7 or 8 other dogs while we exercised. we came across two nice boxers and a little yorkie. the boxers wanted to play but the yorkie was a little timid. after a couple of minutes the yorkie kind of got used to me but was still jumpy.


3. just before it starts to get dark a fog rolls on top of the water. the fog comes down from the dam and makes its way along the river. it seems a little eerie at times even when the sun is still up. it really makes for some freaky looking silhouettes along the fog bank.

any festival 09

1. whitty took me over to the any festival again this year. this is the second time we've gone over to the festival. it was an all weekend (concert, camping, and party) all in one. some people just came in for the day some camped all weekend. me and whitty were there for friday and saturday. we didn't stay over night we just came over and stayed awhile with friends that were camping out.


2. it was really too hot out in the sun when it was high overhead. it felt a lot better later in the evening. we had a few storms roll through over night and lots of lightning. it stayed humid all weekend with temps in the upper 90's. the camp ground we were at was just across a creek from the bristol motor speedway.i'd say we were a couple hundred feet from the track it's self. they were having drag racing over there this weekend.


3. i got to meet some new friends while at the festival. i probably made friends with half a dozen or so this weekend. we all played nice together and having fun running around the camp site.


4. me and whitty walked up to where they was having the bands play both days. the speakers were jammin' very loud. we couldn't stand to close to the stage while they played. about all the music was like punk or heavy metal. neither me or whitty could understand what they sang. we like classic rock, country, or bluegrass personally.
   
   
   
   


5. me and whitty mostly went over there for the camping beside the creek than for the concert. we were having a good time till we walked back to whitty's car and saw that someone had backed into the drivers side door on his car.
6. whitty started to flip when he seen it. he started asking around if anyone saw it happen. luckily the person responsible came back and whitty got all their info so he can get it fixed. whitty was kind of bummed after that and was about ready to go home.
   
   
   
   

fog

1. it was hot and humid outside and i told whitty we better go before it starts to rain. well i was able to talk whitty into going down to the weir today. after we were there for about half an hour fog started rolling down the river. i made whitty go back to the car and get his camera.
2. it was pretty hot so we only stayed for an hour or so. me and whitty were panting after our workout. whitty said he could get a couple gallon just out of his shirt. of course i just go and wade out in the river but that only works for a little while.
3. we saw some geese out in the river and the young were just getting their adult plummage. whenever we came across the island they all would swim out in river. they don't know that i don't want anything to do with them anyhow. sometimes the adults hiss at me and i don't like when they do that. they didn't swim to far and we got to watch them pretty close up.
4. we were right about the rain. after we got back it stormed, we had lightning and the rain was coming in sheets. neither me or whitty wouldn't want to be out in all that. the thunder makes me nervous so whitty came over and sat beside me to make me feel better.

wheels

1. well whitty had to changed the wheels on his skates. he had all-terrain wheels on it and switched them out for urethane wheels. the urethane wheels are better for paved and concrete surfaces and roll a lot easier. the all-terrain do better when whitty has to go off the path onto dirt or grass. whitty did seem to have a little trouble getting used to the different set of wheels, but he adjusted pretty quick. whitty says it got a little slick when we hit some wet concrete but got good traction on dry surfaces. the skates roll a lot easier and i didn't have to pull him as hard or as much. he was actually rolling faster than me on the downhill run.


2. we went to the weir again today. we met a couple new buddies, one was a boxer he's about my size. the other was a little female that i got to meet. at one point we stopped and watched a couple of squirels chasing each other around a tree trunk. we watched them play while we took a break. it was funny seeing them make laps around and around the tree. every now and then they would stop and chatter at each other.


3. the large picture is of some storm clouds that came through yesterday. the storm left some leaves, gravel and twigs scattered all over the path we were on today. whitty had to watch he didn't hit any with his wheels. the smaller picture is of the two ways whittys skates can be configured. the small wheels are better for a smooth path and the larger ones are for all-terrain. whitty says i wore out the big ones but i told him i don't wear the skates. he told me that it's from me slinging him around corners. when i cut a corner short it works like a slingshot. i've had him sliding sideways trying to make a corner. HAHAHA!!!! now thats funny.

promise

1. well whitty kept his promise and took me back down to the weir sunday. he was right there were a lot more dogs down there to meet and play with. i didn't see any of my regular buddies but there were a bunch of new dogs out walking their pet humans. whitty would let me visit with other dogs after i would drag him over there. then i would let him chat with the people while i made friends. HAHAHA!!! now that's funny.


2. i was a little bit on the warm side yesterday and we got hot after a couple laps. i think it bothers whitty more than me, because i just wade out into the river and cool off. so we stayed a little over an hour and we both were ready to go back to the air conditioner.

clearing up

1. well when we started out yesterday me and whitty thought we might get caught in a bit of rain. but we went ahead and stopped by the weir and hoped for the best. it was a little bit humid and hazy but there was a nice breeze coming up the river. we were glad to see that it was starting to clear up after we got there. the sun was out and shining just before we left.


2. there was only 5 or 6 cars in the parking lot when we first got to the weir. so i didn't get to see any of my usual buddies while we were there. i did get to meet a couple of new friends while i ran and whitty skated. we made about 6 laps to the other side of the island and back.


3. whitty told me that if it wasn't raining he might take me back down to the weir sunday. i hope that their are more of my buddies when we go back. just as we were leaving i did get to see one of my buddies. he's a little chiuaua, he don't know that he only weighs about 4 pounds. whitty keeps warning me that he might gnaw my ankles off. it don't bother me when he does that. i know that he's just bluffing and i let him think he's got a good hand.

steel creek

1. wouldn't you know it! yesterday i finally talked whitty into taking me to steel creek park. about a mile from the park it started to sprinkle. just as we got out of the car it really started to rain. since we drove all the way over there whitty said we should wait and see if it was just a quick shower. about 20 min. later it did quit and the sun popped out.





2. whitty put on his skates and we took off. he did ok on the paved areas but when he tried to cross wet planking of the bridges and a few walk ways he would lose traction. so i had to pull more to get him across. when we got to the pavement he would do most of it himself.




3. nobody was out walking with their pet human. the only other dogs there were sitting in their car waiting for their pet human to get back. they just barked a lot as we passed by.

5. we got to see a few ducks, some with little ones. there was lots of geese all around the lake. as we were going along the path we even seen a baby rabbit. it was too fast and whitty didn't get a picture of it.
6. it was really warm and humid. the pavement was steaming as soon as it quit raining.the sun stayed out for an hour or so. then it started to cloud up so we made our way back to the car.

rain

1. me and whitty tried to go for a hike around osceola island today. when we left the house the weather was fine. when we got to the weir it started to sprinkle. we decided to go ahead with our hike. whitty put my backpack on me and we started hiking around the island. as we made our way along the path it started to rain. we got half way around the island and me and whitty were pretty soaked. so we made a short day of it.
2. it's been a while since we been hiking. it sort of through me off a bit cause we hadn't been hiking in so long. whitty got out my backpack and put it on me. i haven't wore the pack in about a year or better. it didn't take long to get back in rhythm. as long as we stayed under the tree canopy we didn't get too wet. so whitty would want to sprint from dry spot to dry spot. the longer we were there the more it rained, so dry spots were getting harder to find.
3. of coarse about a half hour after we got home it quit raining and the sun popped out. go figure that out. we'll have to try hiking again another day. i tried to tell whitty that we're supposed to go hiking when the weather is colder. but he wouldn't listen to me. i'll let him off the hook this time after all he's only human.

sunny

1. i got lucky today and saw two of my buddies at the weir. both audi-mae and tucker were there today when me and whitty went skating. we got down there late in the day about an hour before it started getting dark. i wanted to go earlier but whitty's been working in the garden. so we made a few quick laps to the other side of the island.
2. i haven't seen tucker since last year. it was good to see him again. audi-mae was fiesty as usual. she really is fun though i don't know if i could keep up with her for long. she will still jump up and come bouncing on her hind legs as soon as she sees me. whitty and audi-mae's pet humans get a kick out of us playing together. they just stand there laughing at audi-mae jumping all over me.

closed

1. yesterday me and whitty were going to go to the dam for some skating. when we got there the gate was locked. we never figured out why. there was a parking area just outside the gate so we stopped and went ahead and skated across the dam and up around the picnic area. we made one lap around and back to the car. then whitty decided we should stop by osceola island and skate around by the weir.



2. as me and whitty were skating around osceola island we spotted at least two deer. i wanted whitty to take a picture but he left the camera in the car so we missed that opportunity. that was his fault but i'll let him get away with it this time. we got pretty close to the deer we got about forty or fifty feet from them. they just stood there for a minuet or two before they finally took off.

whitty's birthday

1. well today was whitty's birthday and he decided we should go skating at the weir. it's been a few days since we went out because it's been raining and storming. so while we had a break in the weather he figured we had better go while we had a chance. good thing we did there was some bad storms roll through this evening. possibly a tornado touched down in the next county or two away.
2. we saw some canadian geese while we were skating. a couple of them had a few small goslings. i wouldn't let whitty my pet human get too close. i didn't know how they would react. they might come toward us lower their head and hiss at me and whitty. plus i didn't want to scare the little ones. the little ones were cute as they strolled around with the parents right behind them watching over them.
3. the river was already generating when we got down to the weir about 3 o'clock. whitty didn't think they would start that till about 5 o'clock but since it's been raining almost every day the lake is full. they might need to drop the water level down just a bit. last year we didn't get enough rain and this year just the opposite. whitty can't even get in his garden it's been so wet lately.

long time no see

1. i saw one of my buddies (audi-mae) today that i hadn't seen in a while. she still gets excited as soon as she sees me. she reared up on her hind legs and came bouncing towards me. she might be too much for me to handle. i still like to play with her even though she's a wild one. she is a little smaller than me but she climbs all over me. whitty (my pet human) just stands there and talks with her two pet humans.


2. it was pretty warm when we went to the weir so we didn't work out too hard. though whitty was sweating after a couple of laps. i waded in the river to cool off a bit. it's been sunny the last couple of days but a few clouds started to move in today. whitty thought that some rain might move in tomorrow so he wanted to get out this afternoon.

warming up

1. the sun popped out today. it warmed up a lot since yesterday and the wind had settled down. me and whitty got out again today and did some more skating together. we went back to the weir and more people were out and some had their dogs with them.


2. i got to meet a lot more new buddies while we were there. of course whitty found some people to chat with and that involved a lot of standing around. i don't mind so much when i got a buddy to pal around with. i just drives me crazy to just stand still when i could be running.


3. whitty tried to get a good picture of a heron but we didn't get that close. at least whitty thinks it's a heron. i don't care what he calls it. i ain't getting that close to it. last summer there was an ugly red headed goose down here and it would lower it's head hiss at me. i wouldn't let it get too close. because something that ugly has to be dangerous. HAHAHA!!!

breezy

1. 1. well it's been a while since my last posting. me and witty put our adventures on hold for a while because of medical reasons. whitty's mom was in the hospital so i don't blame him because i was worried too. she's doing much better now.



2. 2. we went up to the top of south holston dam today. it was pretty windy out today when we got started. first we went up and around the picnic area back down then we crossed the dam. the wind was coming up the valley and across the dam. as we crossed the dam we thought the wind would blow us over the other side. it may not have been that bad but it was really a strong breeze. we doubled back across the dam and went around the picnic area once more.



3. i was glad we went to the dam instead of the weir. we get tired of going to the same spot. the weir is just below the dam on the river so we had to go right by it on our way to the dam. bedsides as we passed the weir we could see that there wasn't that many folks out and i didn't see any other dogs out and about today. hopefully next time we'll see some of my buddies. i usually see more of them out on the weekend.

easter

1. it's easter and two days in a row we have gone to the weir. i wasn't able to talk whitty into going somewhere different. it was a little crowded and i got to meet some new buddies while we were there. whitty just stood there and talked while i played and to keep whitty on his toes i would jump and pull in different directions. that'll teach him not to pay attention to me. HAHAHA!
2. it really warmed up since yesterday and the wind settled down. it did start to get cool when the sun wasn't as high in the sky. by then we had been there about an hour and a half. we crossed the bridge to the island and back about 6 or 7 times. me and whitty were pretty tired by the time we left. but it's all good anyway.
3. a lot of pepole were having a picnic today and you could smell the grills goin for a good distance. i didn't pay much attention to that i was there to see meet buddies. a lot of dogs brought their pet human with them and walk around the island. i tried to get whitty to go around the island but he wanted to stay on the concrete as usual.

cool brease

1. me and whitty took another run at the weir today. it was sill cool so there wasn't too many folks down there. i did see a few dogs but some people wouldn't let them come over to play with me. there was a couple that did let me get close enough to play. some people see me and think i might get in a fight with their dog, but all i want to do is play.


2. we go to the weir quite a bit so i need to talk whitty into going somewhere else. maybe i should try to convince him to go back to the top of the dam or go back to steele creek. we only went to steele creek once so i would like to go back there again if i can talk him into it. i'm getting bored with the weir unless whitty rides his bike down there. then we get to go all the way around the island and get to see more than just the concrete path.

windy

1. there was a cold wind blowing today. the temperature wasn't that cold but when out in the wind it sure felt like it. whitty wished he had brought his jacket but after a few times across the bridge and back we started to warm up. we stayed a little over an hour at the weir.


2. although there wasn't very many people at the weir i did get to play with several other dogs. we could tell when we first got there that their was not too many cars in the parking lot to start with. a few showed up others after we did. a few brought a dog or two with them.


3. the siren went off that warns about the river starting to generate. we were close to it and it makes my ears hurt. whitty says that's the only time i howl but he would howl too if he had as good of hearing as i do. i don't really have to be that close when it goes off. it blows twice before the water starts to rise and the first one last about twice as long as the second. they are about 10 minuets apart. it takes about 20 minuets till the water comes from the dam and starts to over flow the weir.

no parking

1. wow it was the most crowded we ever seen at the weir today. we couldn't even find a parking spot. we drove through the parking lot twice and had to park along the roadside. it made getting around a bit difficult, having to weave in and out between people. i didn't care that much me and whitty still had fun as we usually do.
2. we got there earlier than usual so we didn't see of our regular buddies. although we met some new guys while skating. most of them were friendly, but there was a few that wasn't as friendly as the others.
3. we got pretty hot from exercising so i just ploped myself down in the river to cool off. the water was so cold it didn't take long to cool down. then again it don't warm up that much even in the middle of summer.

crowded

1. it was really crowded today at the weir. there must have been a prom or a dance tonight. we saw a lot of people dressed up in gowns and tuxes while we were there. they also had people there to take pics of them. the weir would be a good backdrop for some pics. so me and whitty tried to stay out of there way as not to get in there pics.


2. it was nice and sunny and a lot of dogs brought their pet human with them. i got to play with a bunch of them and made some new friends. we still didn't see that many buddies of mine that we already know. we did see a couple of them while skating across the bridge to the other side of the island. this pic is of one of my new friends roscoe he's about 4 months old. i kind of scared them a little but i was gentle. it would try to approach me while my back was turned and try to hide when i turned around.

back to the weir

1. today we went back to the weir to do some skating. it was getting a little cool cause we started out just about an hour before sunset. i was hoping to meet some of my buddies while we were there but no such luck. we still enjoyed ourselves anyhow. it had been awhile since we went for a workout 'cause whitty had been doing yard work. he has been mowing and he's been tilling his garden so he can get it ready for planting.


2. the sun did poke through a few times while we worked out, but for the most part it stayed cloudy most of the time. we figured we needed to go ahead and exercise 'cause it's supposed to rain or maybe even storm the next day or two. that was why we waited so long to go today 'cause whitty wanted to get the yard mowed and the garden worked up. therefore it took me awhile to talk him into taking me to the weir. he was a little tired but i'm pretty convincing and persistent to say the least.


3. i did see one other dog there running with it's human but it was leaving and i didn't get to play. oh well better luck next time. we usually have better luck on the weekend anyway. i'll try to talk him into going back down saturday or sunday.

family comes to visit

1. well me and whitty went to the weir friday. the weather started out sunny but when whitty checked the weather he discovered that a storm was moving into the area. so we went down to go skating earlier than usual. there were a few people but not many brought their dogs with them. we had a good day, though we could tell that the weather was changing. it soon started to sprinkle and whitty wanted to make one more trip. not a real good idea. it was raining by the time we got back to the car. after we got home it rained the rest of the day.


2. saturday whitty had some of his family came over and i got to play with the kids while they were here. the kids really kept me busy playing with them. meanwhile whitty and his cousin cooked up a meal in his dutch oven. the smell was driving me crazy


3. later on whitty's uncle came over and brought his dog maggie with him. after she showed up we got to play together. then whitty gave me a rawhide chew but every time i got distracted maggie would take the chew from me and i would have to wait on her to drop it. everybody laughed at us taking it away from each other.

fun run

1. we went back to oceola island today for a run. it was a little overcast but fairly warm to start with. by the time we left the wind started to pick up a bit. me and whitty stayed warm cause we were skating and kept burning energy while we were there.
2. we saw audi-mae when we first got down there but she was going down the trail while me and whitty stayed on the concrete path. but we were able to catch up with them on the far side of the island. audi-mae got real excited when she saw me. she rared up on her hind legs and came bounding toward me up on her back legs. she was jumping like a kangaroo.
3. it took me a while to talk whitty into goin down to the river. he said was kind of tired but i had him check the weather and it looked like it would be a few days of rain. so i kept after him and finally talked him into taking me for a run. i got him wraped around my paw. HAHAHA!

bikin

1. today i saw whitty getting ready but he didn't put on his skating shoes. i was like what the ?????? then he got my leash and i thought alright! i really started getting excited, but he forgot my harness. that kind of confused me. we went out and i thought we were getting in the car. then we walked past it which confused me more. all of a sudden he got out his bike. we were going for a bike ride! yahoo!!! it's been over a year since we did that.
2. we went down the driveway and started to the weir. i tried to get in front of the bike but whitty says we were too close together. he wanted me to run beside him not in front. it had been a long time and i had a hard time getting used to that again. it took us a while to get back in rhythm with each other. i almost wrecked him a couple of times' but we finally were able to get together. we rode all the way to the weir' stopping once or twice along the way.
3. it was more crowded than we thought it would be especially since it was race day. that made it rough to pass in some places. since we were biking we rode all the way around the island. we don't get to do that on his skates. they don't go to well in gravel but he don't have that problem on his bike. i hadn't been all the way around the island in a while, it was nice go see some new scenery.
4. it's a mile and half all the way round and whitty had to stop for a bathroom break. whitty left me to watch his bike while he was in there but the bike fell over. then audi-mae came by and said hello and play with me. while we were playing audi-mae's pet humans picked up whitty's bike. he appreciated them taking care of me till he came back out. we stood there for a while audi-mae and i played together.
5. afterward me and whitty rode around the island one more time. i got to meet some more friends. there was one dalmatian that wasn't too friendly. we passed audi-mae a couple of more times but we were moving too fast to stop and play. before we left we sat at a bench to rest for a little bit before heading home. all in all i think we rode five or six miles. it seemed to wear us both out pretty good.

big dogs

1. today me and whitty went back down to the weir today. i didn't get to see any of my buddies but i got to meet some new guys. whitty on the other hand did see some of his buddies. there were a couple of big dogs out today but we played nice together. whitty didn't play much but he slowed down and chatted with some of his friends.


2. we noticed that someone had used some heavy equipment to move some small boulders around and placed them along the walkway. it looked pretty good but they tore up the ground around the area. we wondered if they were going to do more 'cause we kind of like it. the boulders look like the ones that run across the top of the dam just slightly smaller.


3. we ran across the bridge over to the other side a couple of times when we first got there. after we worked up a good thirst whitty took me down to the water. i probably drank a gallon of water strait away 'cause it was warm and sunny. i even laid down in the river, but not too long the sun was warm but the water is still cold. brrrrrr! whitty just waited till we got finished to get a drink. that was almost an 90 minutes later before we got back to the car.

overlook

1. whoa! guess what??? i got whitty to take me to the top of the dam overlooking South Holston lake. we took a run across the dam and by the visitor center then up and around the picnic area. we did that a couple of times. whitty kept stopping and talking to people, but i let him get away with it, because i was excited to go somewhere different.


2. i was a little disapointed because i wanted to meet some new friends, but no such luck at the dam. we did get a little parched and they don't have any running water this time of year. so we just stayed for about 30 or 45 minuets. that is when whitty decided we need a drink, so we left and stopped by the river.


3. when we got down to Oceola island whitty took me down to the river and let me get a drink. it tasted so good i think i drank a gallon, but then again i do that just about every time we go there. the water just taste better strait from the source. it's always cold and no weird chemicals added to it.


4. we kind of split up our run and did half our run at the river. we stayed about an hour and finished our work out. maybe we went a little further than usual with both runs together, but that's ok whitty didn't push me too hard. that's not to say we both weren't wore out by the time we were finished. we both might be sore tomorrow. that will teach him, then again maybe not.........HAHAHA!


5. i even seen something i thought i would never see. there was a cat walking on a leash with two people. that's like trying to push a string uphill. how that cat kept them two under control is astounding. haha! the cat seemed to be alright with me but the sound of whitty's skates was what startled it. it was a pretty cat almost solid black, except some white on it's chest.
